Eisteddfod Continues to Celebrate Artistic Success

With almost half of the 3300 performances completed, Eisteddfod organisers and adjudicators are already impressed with the standard of talent on display.  The focused work of competitors and their teachers/conductors in preparing for the Eisteddfod is evident in the confidence and enjoyment shown on stage.

Once again our visiting adjudicators have been blown away by the consistenty high standard of Toowoomba performers.

There is still plenty on offer with Secondary Piano starting today and vocal and choral sessions continuing through until Monday. Come along and enjoy the show!

Results for Friday evening 11 May through to Sunday Afternoon 13 May sessions are now available on the results page of this website.

Day One at the 2012 May Eisteddfod

Check out today’s results on the Results page.

Come and see tomorrow’s competitions in Speech & Drama, Strings, Piano and Dance.

Clarification re announcing your performance item

Please Note:  Primary-aged competitors have the choice of announcing their item themselves or asking the compere to do it for them.  Please hand the compere a piece of paper with your competitor number, Item name (including the show, play, musical work etc it comes from), and author/composer, when you are ready to perform.  PLEASE write legibly or type this information.

All other competitors, except in sections where you perform as a “character” eg Music Theatre,  Character Recital, Mime, Shakespearian Drama etc, must announce their own item.  In character sections, please hand the compere a piece of paper with your competitor number, Item name (including the show, play, etc it comes from), and author/composer, when you are ready to perform.  PLEASE write legibly or type this information.

Own Choice due now!

All competitors must submit the copies of their Own Choice selections for the adjudicator by this Friday, 4th May.  Please ensure you firmly attach an Own Choice Identification form and appropriate AMCOS forms (all available on page vii of the May Programme) to EACH Section item you submit.  If you are required to perform 2 pieces in a section, please clip both selections together with the single Identification Form.

If you do not submit Own Choice copies by the closing date, you will still able to perform, but as a non-competitor.  You will still get an adjudication sheet, but with no mark and you will not be eligible for placings or prizes.
